ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 is the IT service management system (SMS) standard that is maintained by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization and IEC, the International Electrotechnical Commission. The standard describes the specific requirements to direct and control service management activities, which include the design, transition, delivery and improvement for services that fulfill service requirements and provide value for both the customer and service provider. An ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 registered service management system supports the governance of IT through the control, measurement, reporting and traceability.
